Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety. |
Welcome to AA Online An Online Meeting Hall for AA Groups The purpose of AA Online is to provide online AA members and groups with the facilities to organise and run online meetings by mailing lists, forums, or live chatrooms, together with technical help in setting these up and providing web pages describing the meetings. Do not be misled by the .uk element in the domain name of AA Online. The services offered are not restricted in any way by your location and may be used by members and groups in any (and many) parts of the world. Almost all online AA groups are international in the composition of their members and visitors. Meetings can be set up which are 'open' (guests are welcome) and 'closed' (for those with a desire to stop drinking), and groups may run several meetings. All facilities at AA Online are provided without advertising of any kind. Facilities are provided to online groups free of charge, but if they become self-supporting they may contribute to the running costs of AA Online. The only request is that groups abide by AA's Steps, Traditions and Concepts for World Service. |
